The Colts picked up right where they left off in Week 1 of the 2026 season, but that was not a good thing.
Indianapolis lost their final seven games last year and they are 0-1 after giving up 506 yards and turning the ball over twice in a 41-23 home loss to the Ravens on Sunday. The Colts only managed 251 yards of their own and running back Jonathan Taylor stated after the game that he hopes the beating serves as a reminder that its time for the team to start taking things seriously.
"Definitely an eye-opener, definitely a wakeup call," Taylor noted, via the team's website. "Like, hey, season's here. Obviously we know no one's gonna give us anything, but it's a good team over there and it's like, hey, doesn't matter what you guys did last year, you gotta prove it again this year."
Taylor ran for 98 yards and two scores, but the rest of the offense was underwhelming in quarterback Daniel Jones's return from a torn Achilles. They'll have to hope that more time back on the field helps Jones get back to where he was early last season because more of the same in the weeks to come is going to make for a long season in Indianapolis.
